El Asado Criollo (Roast Spit Barbecue) - E. Rodriguez Long, Jewel B. Groves

£50.00
Sold Out

LOOOK AT THE COVER IMAGE!!!! This book is amazing - Asado stuff got big in Britain about what, ten years ago, tops???? Which puts us at least 60 years behind the Argentinians when it comes to grilling meat (based on this book’s release date anyway). Everything you need to know is detailed inside, from the grilling equipment itself, to how to build the fire, all the different meats, what sauces to use and there is even a whole chapter on SAUSAGES!!!! This is a meat heavy book, as you might expect if you know any Argentinians, but there are chapters entitiled Vegetables and Salad, both of which the author is amusingly dismissive of, as they also are, less amusingly, of women’s ability to consume meat.

Publisher/Published: Bell Editorial (Argentina), 1963 - whole book has the Spanish text on the right and the English on the left.

First (and seemingly only) Edition. Hardback. Rare as rocking horse shit.

Condition: Good. A touch of white (paint?) on the top edge of the cover.
