Eating at Hotel Il Pellicano - Juergen Teller, Antonio Guida, Will Self
Italy’s La Colombe d’Or, Il Pellicano is an arty, swanky, celeb filled mega fest and one of the world’s great hotels. The restaurant has a different chef now, but this book, and its extraordinary photographs by Juergen Teller (and introduction by Will Self) mark a period in the hotel’s history (under the stewardship of Antonio Guida, 2 Michelin Stars) where food and art genuinely seemed to meld in some way and made something pretty extraordinary and utterly bonkers. The book is like a much bigger, less utilitarian, David La Chapelle-esque, version of Martin Parr’s Real Food.
Pulblisher/Published: Violette Editions, 2013
Condition: Very Good - still its original cellophane wrapping, which is a bit ripped at the corners (bottom right corner has a tiny knock too). Generally in fantastic condition though!
