Eating at Hotel Il Pellicano - Antonio Guida, Jurgen Teller and Will Self (True First Edition)
Italy’s La Colombe d’Or, Il Pellicano is an arty, swanky, celeb filled mega fest and one of the world’s great hotels. The restaurant has a different chef now, but this MASSIVE book, and its extraordinary photographs by Juergen Teller (and introduction by Will Self) mark a period in the hotel’s history (under the stewardship of Antonio Guida, 2 Michelin Stars) where food and art genuinely seemed to meld in some way and made something pretty extraordinary and utterly bonkers. The book is like a much bigger, much less utilitarian, David La Chapelle-esque version of Martin Parr’s (RIP) Real Food.
Pulblisher/Published: Violette Editions, 2013
Condition: Good - Tiny knock to top right corner of cover but barely noticable and generally in fantastic condition!
