La Cuisine Cousu-Main - Christian Dior (Individually numbered, only 4000 copies ever printed)

£1,750.00
Only 1 available

Christian Dior was a mega-gourmand and penned a cookbook - who knew?! Extremely rare and very well preserved, this is very special, as the price tells you. The bougie-ness of some of the recipes are no surprise, but looking back at many of the clothes he designed, neither are the simple classics. If a dish had to metaphotircally represent the man’s aesthetic, would it be Cream of Chervil Soup or Pommes Dauphine? Probably not, but what’s that got to do with anything? Only 4000 copies of this were ever published and they were individulally numbered. This is copy 2213.

Publisher/Pubished: Christian Dior, 1971. Hardback. Aluminium plating coats the front, back and spine and the book comes inside its original perspex box, also spine-lined with aluminium.

Condition: RNTBCHOII. Bearing in mind how old it is, this is in extremely good condition. There’s the tiniest crack in the top of the perspex box but shit, this is the best quality copy of this I am yet to come across.
